IPC Irwin Ultraviolet LED Lamp (mains powered)

Code: OUV4001

The new updated IPC Irwin Ultraviolet LED Lamp (see notification of change) is a mains powered unit designed to produce a uniformed and constant UV light output at 410nm, making it ideally suited to demonstrate the properties of ultraviolet light.

The UV Lamp provides the ability to make the phosphorescence properties of chemicals glow, for example washing powder. Along with helping students understand concepts such as light interaction with matter, experiments with the principles of light wavelengths and optics can be performed, including work in the new Forensic Science part of the syllabus. This newly designed UL Lamp uses the latest LED technology, therefore providing a much safer and reliable solid-state UV light source.

DESCRIPTION.
The Ultraviolet LED Lamp incorporates nine UV LEDs, each enclosed in individual reflectors designed to produce a perfectly uniformed light output. The UV Lamp is fitted with a 1.0m mains lead and has standard UK mains plug (3A fuse) moulded to the lead, this lead also incorporated the on/off switch. The UV Lamps itself is housed in a black powder coated extruded metal case and fitted with a single clear plastic window over the LEDs. Two support brackets are supplied with the UV Lamp, which simply attach to the ends of the housing, therefore allowing the UV Lamp to be fitted to any type of support structure
