Variable Low Tension PSU (12V)

The 12V Variable Low Tension (L.T.) PSU is a heavy-duty power supply designed to provide both continuously variable AC and unsmoothed, full-wave rectified, DC voltage supplies up to a current of 6 Amps, or 8 Amps for short periods. The high current capability makes the PSU ideal for operating motors, lamps, heating elements etc. plus demonstrating electromagnetism and performing magnetic experiments. Please note that the PSU now comes with a carrying handle fitted to the lid.

DESCRIPTION.

The Power Supply provides both continuously variable AC and DC voltages up to 12V, both outputs may be used simultaneously up to a combined output current of 6 Amps, or 8 Amps for short periods. The control panel incorporates a voltage adjustment control knob, which is used to set the required output voltage, the approximate voltages are shown surrounding the control. The control panel also incorporates four 4mm output sockets, two White sockets for the AC output and a Red and Black socket for the DC output, a resettable overload cut-out switch is also provided on the panel. The rear panel incorporates an illuminated (green) mains on/off switch and a mains input IEC socket containing an in-built protection fuse. Normally the unit is supplied with a separate UK plug to IEC plug, 2.0m, mains lead.
