A very popular and compact Westminster power supply that is ideal for school use in Key stage 4 and 5 physics lessons with its tough steel case protected by a tough powder coated finish that will last years of use. The unit will deliver up to 12Amps AC or DC through its colour coded terminal posts. This power supply is very popular for use in electromagnet experiments.
DESCRIPTION.
The IPC Irwin Westminster Power Supply provides AC voltages of 2V or 1V + 1V using a centre tapping, plus a fully rectified DC voltage of 1V. The 2V AC voltage is supplied via two yellow 4mm terminal post and the 1V + 1V via either yellow terminal and the black 4mm terminal post, the 1V DC voltage is supplied via the Red and Black 4mm terminal posts. Note: the unit is designed to withstand continual short circuiting and therefore has no thermal cut-out fitted, as this might trip when high currents are being drawn.
